The biggest race is the re-election bid by U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) who faces six other opponents tonight.
U.S. Sen. Tim Scott will face the voters for the first time since being named to the post by Gov. Nikki Haley last year. Scott is running to be elected on his own to fill out the term of Sen. Jim DeMint who resigned.
There are twelve candidates — across both parties — running for S.C. School Superintendent. The Republican Party is also having an inter-party tussle with four strong candidates running for Lt. Governor.
We will live tweet breaking news at @STCarolinas and update this post throughout the night.UPDATE AT 7:38 PM EASTERN: A small diversion from the SC primary. Election results coming from the Virginia 7th Congressional District suggest that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is headed to defeat.
