The usually peaceful country of Thailand, who continues to be governed under Martial law, has now endured a military coup d’état. The Thai army boss has announced that the coup was “necessary to restore stability,” due to the six months of political shenanigans that have deadlock government proceedings.
“It is necessary for the Peace and Order Maintaining Command — which includes army, navy, armed forces and police — to take control of governing the country.” Thai Army Chief Prayuth
This is not the first time, nor will probably be the last time, that there will be a coup in Thailand. According to the same AP report, armed soldiers surrounded and prohibited exit from the building in which government officials gathered to try to come to some kind of agreement.
Is there any chance there could be a coup of this kind here in the U.S., considering how dysfunctional the federal government has been? Nah, that’s not going to happen.

This the Thai Monarchy ceased to exists in 1932, there have been a total of 12 coup d’états.
Presently, there is no sign of threat of a possible coup against the Monarchy of President Barack Obama.
