Florida Governor Rick Scott and U.S. Senator Marco Rubio continue to pressure the Department of Veteran’s Affairs for full transparency and accountability at its medical facilities in Florida, this after a new “secret” waiting list was discovered at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Rubio, who filed his VA Management Accountability Act earlier this year, has recently demanded that the VA turn over the “secret electronic wait list data for all Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC) in Florida,” after reports surfaced stating that veterans have died while waiting for medical care.“I am troubled by new reports suggesting secret waiting lists were being kept at the Gainesville VA hospital, potentially to the detriment of our veterans’ health. This would be outrageous in its own right, but it’s even more so because of the pervasive problems emerging about the VA each day in all corners of the country.”-Senator Marco Rubio
Florida’s other U.S. Senator, Democrat Bill Nelson, who is the only Democrat Senator to openly state that he would support Rubio’s VA bill, has been missing in action since the VA scandal was first broke.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Florida Governor Rick Scott, a U.S. Navy veteran himself, is once again calling for his Agency for Health Care Administration inspectors, to make another attempt of reviewing the VA hospital in Gainesville, after being denied access to hospital records on April 14. 2014.
Given this news, I am asking the Agency for Health Care Administration’s inspectors to attempt a revisit at the VA hospital in Gainesville.
“Earlier this week, I called for an independent thorough analysis and I renew that call today. The VA has repeatedly denied Florida’s experienced hospital inspectors and the Freedom of Information Act request for documentation has yet to be acknowledged. I will continue to focus a light on concerns at the VA until they are willing to be transparent.-Gov. Rick Scott
Scott first spoke about the VA denying state health inspectors access several weeks back at the Army National Guard Armory in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
What does Democrat gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist think about the VA scandal?
Charlie Crist, like Senator Bill Nelson, has been silent on this issue.
Now it is being reported that VA Undersecretary Dr. Robert Petzel has just resigned.
