Republican Party of Florida Chairman Lenny Curry, recently announced that he would be stepping down as the state party’s head honcho, causing a bit of a grassroots upheaval among a growing number of state committeemen and women.
This group of state committeemen and women believe that the upcoming Chairman’s election is reminiscent to the elections of embattled former RPOF Chairman Jim Greer. As we previously reported, the fix is in over at the RPOF. The party, as they did with Jim Greer, is throwing their weight behind one candidate, as opposed to letting the state committee decide who will lead the state party.
The Sunshine State News recently reported that Clay County Chairwoman, Leslie Dougher is the clear frontrunner to be the next chairman of the state GOP.
Curry is also backing Dougher, and Governor Rick Scott is said to be following Curry’s recommendation.take our poll - story continues belowDo you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)

John Thrasher, a former RPOF chairman, said Dougher is likely to be the choice. He said Republican leaders are signaling their support for Dougher.
“We all think that she’s going to be a stabilizing person for the party between now and the election,” said Thrasher, R-St. Augustine.
The Chairman’s election is supposed to be held at the RPOF’s quarterly meeting in Orlando Tampa later this month, but a monkey wrench may be thrown into the Republican festivities, as talk about a possible boycott of the election is being discussed amongst the committee.
In order for Dougher, or anyone else, is to be elected chairman of the state party, a quorum of 125 members of the committee must be present at the election.
If enough of the committee does in fact boycott the election, a clear message will be sent to the Republican establishment that the Jim Greer/Charlie Crist way of doing things is over.
The Republican Party is out railing against Democrats, accusing them of voter intimidation and election fraud, but can’t the RPOF’s tactics in the Chairman’s election also be seen as voter intimidation?
