The recent kidnapping of 300 young christian girls in Nigeria by the radical Islamic terrorist group, Boko Haram, has prompted the U.S., U.k., and France to join the Nigerian governments efforts to locate and rescue the girls.
China is also helping out, committing satellite intelligence to help find the missing girls.The three western countries are only committing small groups to the effort, including the 20 or so U.S. contingency that includes 10 uniformed military personnel.
They will be logistics and communications experts who will assess the situation and advise Nigerian officials, according to Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren, who said the U.S. military has no plans to carry out a rescue mission.
