In what could be a very bad election year for Democrats, House Democrats are pushing immigration reform to help deflect away from their biggest crutch, Obamacare.
A bipartisan amnesty-lite immigration reform bill penned by Congressman Joe Garcia (D) and co-sponsored by close to 200 members of Congress, is being stalled by Republican leadership in the House of Representatives.Garcia held a press conference in Hollywood, Florida, with Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to discuss the need to pass his “The Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act.”
“The speaker could put it on the floor tonight if he wanted to. We know if this bill was put on the floor of the U.S. house of Representatives it would pass, it has enough votes to pass.” Rep.Debbie Wasserman Schultz (R)

According to Democrats, “650 business organizations, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, religious leaders, law enforcement and much of the technology industry,”
The act provides an earned pathway to citizenship for millions of people, according to Garcia. It also increases in border security, allow 11 million undocumented people living and working here the chance to come out of the shadows, allows nearly two million people who were brought here illegally as children, through no fault of their own, to obtain jobs legally, pay taxes, open bank accounts and not live in fear of deportation.-CBS 4
Conservative Republicans legislators in the House of Representatives do not support a comprehensive approach to immigration reform, but a more piece-meal effort to address the problem.
If both Garcia and Wasserman Schultz are adamant about border security, then they are in-line with conservatives in the House, who support border security first, right?
Why not enforce current immigration laws that would in fact help secure the border, and then tackle the other issues related to immigration reform, once the security aspect of the immigration issue is addressed?
Comprehensive immigration reform is just another term for comprehensive welfare for illegal aliens.
