Republican congressional candidate Curt “Outsider” Clawson’s crushing win over the primary field of candidates in the special election in Florida’s 19th congressional district, all but assured him of becoming the next member of Congress to represent the GOP-heavy region of the state.
The political newbie’s genuineĀ pro-life, anti-Common Core, and economic prosperity message,which garnered him the endorsement of the conservative Eagle Forum and Senator Rand Paul, proved to much for Lizbeth Benacquisto, Paige Kreegel, and Michael Dreikorn to collectively overcome.During his acceptance speech, Clawson did what many Republican elected officials and candidates fail to do, embrace the minority communities.
There is a big difference between reaching out to certain voting blocs, and including them into political process.

Clawson, who worked and lived in Mexico, rattled off in fluent Spanish an embracing statement in Spanish to Hispanics.

Clawson added that the Republican Party is the political party of “ambition,” as well as being the party of “opportunity to all races.”
As with any election, conservatives Republicans are wondering if Clawson will legislate as a true constitutional conservative, or tow the establishment party line once he arrives in Washington, D.C.
Clawson stated that the GOP need to elect “more outsides who are constitution conservatives,” sticking to his prior statement that the GOP establishment in Washington would not be all that happy with him.When reporters asked Clawson about what his victory, Clawson said that the win was a “mandate” and that “humility is in heart” due to the awesome responsibility and stewardship that goes along with the job.
The special general election is in late June.
