Every wonder why those large Morgan & Morgan “IT’S ABOUT THE PEOPLE” billboards, which use Charlie Crist’s portrait and name, are still doing up along the Florida Turnpike, I-75, I-4, and in other parts of state, even after he has officially announced his gubernatorial candidacy?
Well, the Republican Party of Florida has, and has filed a complaint with the Florida Elections Commission against Crist’s employers, the Orlando-based law firm, Morgan & Morgan. The state party contends that the Morgan & Morgan billboards are an unreported in-kind statutory donation that exceeds the $3000 allowed per individual.
“I guess it should be no surprise that trial lawyer Charlie Crist is being helped by his trial lawyer partners at Morgan & Morgan, but his campaign’s failure to report their help is a violation of the law. Morgan & Morgan billboards with Charlie Crist’s face on them while he was a declared candidate qualified as a reportable contribution. Failing to report the billboards is a clear breach of the law and a promise to work ‘for the people.'” —Republican Party of Florida Executive Director Juston Johnson
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
But Democrats are not taking this lying down, as they too have filed a complaint against Rick Scott’s “Let’s Get To Work” campaign, stating that the recent “Families” TV ad used “an improper disclaimer.”
Instead of wasting their time and energy trying to be election law lawyers, the Florida Democratic Party should focus on winning races and figuring out how they’re going to help their Obamacare-embracing favored candidate, Charlie Crist, win in November. After all, that didn’t work so well for Alex Sink.-RPOF Communication Director, Susan Hepworth
With both parties playing election law “tag,” John “Ganja” Morgan form the Morgan & Morgan law firm has decided to add his two cents to the conversation.
According to the Ricks Scot for Florida re-election campaign, Morgan sent the Associated Press an email stating that “he ordered the billboards down months ago and that some were left up by the billboard companies,” which represent “a clear and continuing violation of campaign finance laws by both his firm, Morgan & Morgan, and the Crist Campaign.”
“Big Mouth Morgan” let the truth slip out. Crist’s trial lawyer frieCristnds illegally advertised on his behalf and the Crist campaign hid it from ’the people.’ – Rick Scott for Florida Communications Director, Matt Moon,
It is not known if John Morgan, who is a huge advocate for the legalization of Marijuana, had smoked some of the herb he so vehemently supports, before making this statement, which apparently contradicts the Crist campaign’s claims that the complaint filed against it were bogus.Moon asks if the Crist campaign believed the billboards served “a legitimate business purpose,” then why did “Ganja John” want them taken down?
