Benacquisto Scores Congressional Endorsements, Her Consultant Jumps The Shark

Congressmen Tom Rooney (R) and Mario Diaz-Balart (R) have now openly endorsed Republican candidate, Lizbeth Benacquisto in the special Republican primary race in FL-
CD 19.

Benacquisto’s campaign put out this statement about these two key endorsements, as well as Benacquisto’s response.

Diaz-Balart-

“Washington is broken and this President has no interest in fixing it,” Diaz-Balart said. “Lizbeth’s fighting spirit and proven ability to get things done are just what we need to get things moving for hardworking Florida families.”

Rooney-

“Lizbeth is a proven and trusted leader,” said Rooney. “Washington desperately needs more people like her and I look forward to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with her to fight for the fiscal responsibility the people of Florida need and deserve.”

Benacquisto-

“I am honored to have the support of two of Florida’s strongest conservatives in Washington,” Benacquisto said. “Together, we will fight to cut taxes, balance the budget and reduce regulations that are holding back our economy – just as I have done here in Florida.”

The race is looking more like it will come down to Benacquisto and businessman Curt Clawson, who has pumped hundreds of thousands of his own dollars into the campaign, and has managed to garner the endorsement of former Congressman Connie Mack (R).

The Republican primary has been waddling in the political gutter since Day 1, as a Super PAC’s supporting former state representative Paige Kreegel first began attacked Benacquisto, while two Super PAC’s linked to Benacquisto, and funded by the state Republican Party, have been attacking Curt Clawson.

Now it seem as if the consultants representing each campaign are trading barbs on Twitter. Clawson consultant, John Yob, responded to Benacquisto’s campaign mouthpiece Brian Hughes, after Hughes cried foul over as story the Shark Tank posted about Lizebeth Benacquisto’s husband’s (Bruce Strayhorn) inextricable ties and donations to the extreme left of the Democrat Party.
