The alleged Alan Grayson wife-beating incident continues to raise eyebrows, as his legal team counters the assault charges made against the “Congressman with Guts.” Grayson fired back at his wife’s allegations by releasing a video taken from the cell phone of one of his staffers, that shows Lolita Grayson throwing a couple hard pushes or punches at Grayson with her right hand.

The video released by Grayson’s attorney was edited, because they said it was to protect the underage children.
But, why was the staffer prepared to take video of the incident the moment it allegedly happened? Was he already aware that Grayson’s visit to the residence could turn ugly?

Could it be that the estranged couple has a history of domestic violence, and Grayson  actually showed up to the residence expecting something an altercation, prompting him to bring along the staffer to catch it all on video, from beginning to end?

According to Todd Ubl, a past Grayson associate, Alan Grayson did have history of verbally abusing his wife Lolita, and said that this week’s incident did not surprise him at all.

This divorce looks as if it will drag Alan Grayson into the gutter. What will truly be telling of the incident, will be the 911 phone call placed from the residence.

Grayson’s Republican opponent, Navy veteran Jorge Bonilla, quickly chimed in on the incident, and  launched his “NO GUTS JUST NUTS” campaign against Grayson. Bonilla’s campaign said that the launch of the website was scheduled for the start of CPAC, and that the Grayson alleged assault claim against him was purely coincidental.

I abhor domestic violence in all its iterations. In my view, men who engage in any form of spousal abuse, whether physical or verbal, are not much of a man to begin with, and are modeling awful behavior for their children. With regards to the specifics of the case at hand, it is best to pray for the Grayson family, particularly the children, as they sort through these painful matters. –Jorge Bonilla
