Tampa Bay’s WTSP caught up with Charlie Crist at his hold high school in St. Petersburg, Florida, where the former governor of Florida reminisced about his days as a quarterback.
You also have to rely on your teammates. You’ve got these guys that are blocking for you and if they don’t block for you, you can’t drop back and through a pass or your running back isn’t going to have an open hole to go through,” he adds. “So, everybody has to do their job in order for you to have success as a team. It’s the same thing in a campaign, same thing as the governor of the state, you’ve got to have all your secretaries, all of them, working hard and hopefully inspired by the leader.”-WTSP
By far, Charlie Crist’s most significant and famous touchdown pass was made in 2010, when he threw a touchdown pass to everyone’s favorite conservative and opinionated reporter, me.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Charlie singled me out at the news gaggle that day in Pembroke Pines, Florida, asking me to run a post route into the end zone. The only thing that ran through my mind was dropping the pass, or slipping and fall on my face, a blooper that millions of Americans would bare witness to later on that afternoon and evening.
But because I am such a gifted athlete, with a physique that Miami Herald Political Reporter Marc Caputo wished he had, I was able to easily make the catch. That’s right Caputo, bring on the Frisbee!
