Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has vetoed the controversial anti-gay bill in her state that would have amended the states existing Religious Freedom Restoration Act, allowing the denial of services to gay customers by businesses.
The business owners could only deny these services to gays, if they were solely doing so because of their religious beliefs.Former Florida Governor Crist, Mitt Romney, Senator John McCain, and many others, all supported the veto of this bill.
Growing up in South Florida-a “hot bed for Gays”-I have been acclimated to gay lifestyle. While I don’t necessarily care to see public displays of affection by homosexual men, I disagree with many ultra-Conservatives that believe that homosexuality is a choice made by certain individuals.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Yes, these folks choose to act on their impulses and desire, but no one has ever proven that homosexuality is not part of those individual’s body make-up.
I have had friends over the years that have confided in me that they wish they were never born gay, because of strain and turmoil it has caused with their close and traditional-minded families.
While I believe that the veto in Arizona was the right thing to do, I am fearful that this could lead the gay community to think that it can get away with anything, especially forcing the Catholic church and other denominations-through court action- to conduct gay marriage ceremonies.Could what just happened in Arizona lead to similar vetoes of bills supporting, or not supportin gay marriage?
Look on that note, let me reiterate what I have always said, “just like the rest of us, gays should have the right to lose half of their money when they get divorced.”
