Newly sworn in Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera is not wasting anytime pounding the political pavement with his boss, as well as headlining local Republican club events, including a breakfast on Wednesday in Palm Beach, Florida.
Lopez-Cantera was at the recent Miami gun show, where Governor Rick Scott took the time to introduce his #2 to just about everyone they encountered.“CLC” is even stepping into his role as attack dog against Scott’s 2014 gubernatorial election challenger, Charlie Crist.
While Scott refrains from directly attacking Crist and stays of message, Lopez-Cantera drop-kicks Crist in the head over his numerous change of positions, or as “CLC” would say about Crist,” Charlie is a serial flip-flopper.”

The Miami native and former Florida House Majority leader, who is still widely popular among legislators, was not on the initial short list of LG candidates.
It wasn’t until a late media push to have “CLC’ considered for the job, did Scott’s administration sit down to talk with Lopez-Cantera.
According to one source close to the process, Scott was infuriated and questioned his staff, as to why Lopez-Cantera was not initially considered for the job.Back in January, we wrote about how it all really went down:
According to the Miami Herald’s source, which ”indicated that Lopez-Cantera and Scott met Sunday in Miami, where the governor attended the Three Kings parade,” the two got along well, and “Scott indicated he wanted Lopez-Cantera for the job.”
The meeting between Scott and Lopez-Cantera was not by chance, as ‘CLC’ interviewed for the job with Scott’s chief of staff, Adam Hollingsworth, several weeks ago in Orlando, Florida.
In late December 2012, the same sources close to the governor’s office told the Shark Tank that prior to the meeting that took place between Hollingsworth and Lopez-Cantera, Lopez-Cantera spoke to Scott himself about the job.
Expect to see a lot more of Lopez-Cantera, as he continues to introduce himself to Floridians, as well as ramp up the attacks on former Governor Charlie Crist.-Shark Tank
