Congressman Steve Southerland (R-FL), who is running for re-election in Florida’s 2nd congressional district, is in a contentious congressional race against former U.S. Senator Bob Graham’s daughter and Democrat candidate Gwen Graham, recently sat down with the Shark Tank to discuss various issues concerning Americans.
Southerland seemed especially proud about the recent Farm bill that was voted on and passed in the House, saying that dairy policy reforms would save tax payer dollars, and that he was encouraged with the food stamp program work requirements. The Congressional Black caucus in the House, which Southerland is obviously not a part of, has pushed back at President Obama over what they feel is a lack of attention and “disinterest” the President has paid to assisting black colleges, as well as his lack of effort in doing something to curb the increase unemployment rate in the black community.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Southerland believes that Blacks, as well as Hispanics and other minorities, are turning on the President because of the woeful nationwide jobs creation numbers, which has created less full time employment, and more part time jobs.
Bottom line, Obama’s economy is hurting everyone.
Obama’s go-it-alone way of governing is not sitting well with many elected officials on both sides of the aisle, and as Southerland points out, “you have seen a glance into the way he thinks both Democrats and Republicans are growing aggravated at the President for not reaching out to Congress- its not just a Republican issue, it’s a Democrat issue as well.”Southerland added that back in the 1990’s, President Bill Clinton, unlike Obama, reached out and worked with Republicans, and got a lot of “good things done.”
