Former Republican-turned-Democrat Charlie Crist is boasting about the combined $3 million his independent and campaign committees have raised in the first month of his gubernatorial candidacy. On the same day, coincidentally (yeah right), Rick Scott officially filed paperwork for his reelection, and announced that his Let’s Get To Work independent committee raised $6 million in the same month. So for those of you in St. Petersburg, who are not able to do the math, Scott’s one independent committee has stomped all over Crist’s entire fundraising apparatus by a margin of 2 to 1, without even formally announcing his gubernatorial candidacy.
Expect Crist to be able to raise millions more, but Scott will most likely crush him at every reporting cycle. And take note that, if it wasn’t for some dope (Not saying that it is Scott’s COS Hollingsworth) who proposed that the minimum contribution amount be raised from $500 to $3000, Crist would probably not even have raised the $800,000 for his campaign committee.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
So what does Charlie Crist say about the fundraising totals?
“I’m humbled to announce that … we raised about 3 million dollars in just over three weeks,” Crist said in an email to supporters. “While Rick Scott shakes down a few gigantic special interests, I will continue to be inspired by you, the people.”
Crist hypocritically says Scott is shaking down special interests, but what does he call his fundraising efforts?
It is no secret that Morgan & Morgan and the rest of the states trial attorneys are pushing their ambulance-chasing and frivolous lawsuit agenda with their support of Crist’s candidacy, but what about Morgan’s pot angle?
More on that to come…
