According to a Democratic operative, Governor Rick Scott’s re-election committee will be buying $500,000 in ad space to attack former Republican-turned-Independent-turned Democrat, Charlie Crist, the day he is expected to announce his gubernatorial run against Scott. The ad will reportedly be named “Opportunist,” which is fitting of Crist, considering that he decided to not seek re-election as governor in 2010, and run for the U.S. Senate, only to make a 180-degree political turn and consider running for the very seat he abandoned.
The RPOF has been able to frame the narrative that Crist is nothing more than a flip-flopping opportunist, a claim that has been far too easy make, since Crist has change his position on just about every single issue he ever stated he supported or opposed.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Rick Scott’s pollster and campaign advisor Tony Fabrizio, has always thought the easy target in the raise would be Crist, and has recently mocked Crist, saying that he was a “veritable treasure-trove” of political fodder, would have “a bigger “bulls eye” on his back, and hinted that the possibility of an “Operation Chaos” type of campaign could involve Crist’s primary opponent, liberal Democrat Nan Rich.
I don’t know that Charlie Crist wins the primary against Nan Rich, and that’s not saying that Nan Rich wouldn’t have help…You never know, there could be interested citizens that like to help Nan Rich”-Tony Fabrizio (SOURCE)
While Scott still lags in the latest public opinion polls, what will Crist hit him on? Under Crist’s administration, jobs were down, the state economy was in the gutter, so what is Crist going to hit Scott on, the fact that more Floridians are currently employed under Scott than when Crist was in office, or the fact that Scott has been able to drive an unprecedented amount of new business to the Sunshine State?
