Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, considered to be part of the Republican establishment, has weighed in on the recent defund Obamacare effort carried out in the U.S. Congress.Bush, who many believe will make a run for President in 2016, told ABC’s This Week, that conservative grassroots favorite, Senator Ted Cruz, should show “a little bit of self-restraint,” when dealing with issues as polarizing as Obamacare.
The former Florida governor said that today on ABC’s This Week. “I think the best way to repeal Obamacare is to have an alternative; we never hear the alternative…we could do this in a much lower cost with improved quality based on our principles, free market principles…and two, show how Obamacare, flawed to its core, doesn’t work,” Bush said. “So have a little bit of self-restraint. It might actually be a politically — a better approach to see the massive dysfunction.”-Tampa Bay Times
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Could Bush be directing this shot at Cruz, simply because he feels the freshman Senator from Texas would be the potential presidential candidate that could derail a future presidential nomination for the former governor of Florida?
Maybe. Bush did not mention some of Cruz’s pals, who had openly expressed their support for defunding Obamacare, including Senator Mike Lee (R-UT), and most notably, Bush’s close amigo and political protege, Senator Marco Rubio.
“It was a mistake to focus on something that couldn’t be achieved. And that’s what that was. It was tactics” –Jeb Bush
