Democrats are out in force pushing the opening of Obamacare’s healthcare exchanges, which are slated to open on October 1st.Congresswoman Kathy Castor (D) was elated about the HHS announcement stating Florida families would have access to inexpensive and affordable health insurance plans.
Castor said that Floridians “will have a great variety of options for families and individuals,” adding that “depending upon your situation,” families or individuals would be able to pick from three plans, bronze, silver, or gold.

The most interesting remark Castor made was when she acknowledge the fact that Americans, who currently have health insurance, would “be in better shape,” because they would not have to keep subsidizing their “neighbors” health coverage.
This remark came after she stated that those who have health insurance “often times pick up the extra, the cost shifted is to them.”This health insurance “cost shifting” is exactly what Obamacare does to Americans, “shift” the expense around. President Obama famously said that he wanted to redistribute wealth, and Obamacare is just one the vehicles he will use to do so, as Americans are facing significant tax hikes to pay for his universal healthcare law.

Florida families are going to have affordable health insurance rates. We have been waiting for this news for many months, and the good news is that the new healthcare market places that will launch next week will have a great variety of options for families and individuals, also, and they will be affordable options, depending upon your situation, you can pick either a bronze, silver or gold plan, select your benefits of what you want, higher deductible or low deductible.
This is very meaningful especially in Florida, where 25% of our population they do not have health insurance now, which means people who have insurance often times pick up the extra, the cost shifted is to them.
So, for families who do not have insurance, this is great news-affordable options and many options. And if you have insurance, you are going to be in better shape because your neighbors are going to be covered, and the cost will not be shifted to you.-Rep. Kathy Castor (D)
