Governor Rick Scotts friend, pollster and Republican Strategist, Tony Fabrizio is licking his chops for the opportunity to face-off against former Republican Governor turned Independent, and now Democrat, Charlie Crist in the 2014 Gubernatorial election.

During  he recent speaking engagement in Miami, Florida, Fabrizio said that he hopes Crist gets in the race, adding that he hopes he does it next month.

Asked if he would prefer to face Crist over anyone else on the Democratic side, Fabrizio chuckled, saying that he wanted to face the “easiest opponent possible,” and that Scott’s re-election campaign was not afraid of Charlie Crist, not in the least bit.

Fabrizio added that Crist was a “veritable treasure-trove” of political fodder, then proceeded to mock him by saying that he is going to “become the number one fiction writer” when he releases his not-so-anticipated book,” The Party’s Over: How the Extreme Right Hijacked the GOP and I Became a Democrat.”

 Once he becomes a candidate, he has a big bulls eye on his back-bigger than the on he already has- and not just from the Republican Party of Florida, but from the Democrats themselves.-Tony Fabrizio

Fabrizio adds that Democrats are not too happy with Crist, and if anyone thought they were, they’d be crazy to think that.

What Fabrizio said about Nan Rich being a “True Democrat,” and the possibility that she could receive some ‘outside intervention’ in her potential Democratic primary race against Crist, is very telling. Did Fabrizio all but say that “others” will play a part in defeating Crist in the Democratic primary election?

 I don’t know that Charlie Crist wins the primary against Nan Rich, and that’s not saying that Nan Rich wouldn’t have help…You never know, there could be interested citizens that like to help Nan Rich”-Tony Fabrizio

Charlie Crist wants voters to judge him by his actions, Fabrizio seems more than willing to oblige his request, as Crist’s past actions of tax hiking, flip-flops, and betrayals, will be surely served up on a platter. God knows Fabrizio is a gourmet.
