It took only 2 hours for Terrorist Nidal Hasan to be sentence to death by a military jury, fueling the speculation that this was the sentence he wanted all along. Military prosecutors believe that Martyrdom is what Hasan has sought, and with this death sentence, he would be that much closer to his ultimate goal.Politicians are now beginning to comment on the death sentence handed down on Hasan, and most, like Senator Ted Cruz, believe that “ Hasan will face the ultimate justice, but this can’t bring back the American heroes killed in the terrorist attack at Fort Hood.
Former U.S. Army JAG prosecutor based in Fort Hood, Congressman Tom Rooney (R-FL) says that the focus should now be on ensuring justice for the victims by ” providing them with the benefits they need and deserve,” to include combat-related and Purple Heart compensation.

Now that the shooter has been brought to justice, we need to redouble our efforts to ensure justice for his victims by providing them with the benefits they need and deserve.
“With the trial now complete, there are no more excuses. It’s time for DoD and the Obama Administration to work with us and make sure the victims of this horrific massacre and their families get the assistance they have earned.”-Rep. Tom Rooney (R-FL)
