By JAVIER MANJARRESThe Washington, D.C.-based newspaper, The Hill, has put out their annual 50 Most Beautiful People, and Florida’s very own Congresswoman Frederica Wilson (D) was been named to the list.
Wilson, who is best known for her colorful hats and outfits, and the occasional racial rants about how Blacks are being discriminated against, once considered asking Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, permission to wear her hats on the floor of the House of Representatives.
Hats are not allowed to be worn on floor of the House, but Boehner could make the exception, if he wanted. Word is, he doesn’t want to.
According to The Hill story, Wilson thinks the long-standing ‘no-hat’ rule is “kind of crazy,” but said she “didn’t challenge” the rule, once she was told she could not wear her hat.
Wilson did not challenge the rule, but did make a huge stink of it back in 2010, saying that she was not going to “give up the possibility that she might one day wear a hat onto the House floor.”
“I’ll look at my options and I will proceed from there.”-Rep. Frederica Wilson (D)
Wilson’s quote could be code for, ‘I’ll wait to see if the Republicans loss the Majority in the House.’ The notion that Wilson could be granted a request to wear her hat on the House floor by an incoming Democratic Speaker of the House is entirely plausible.
