“I’ll also pray and reflect and work to determine my own future path…Any future considerations, I will announce in due time and I will arrive at that decision appropriately.”-Gov. Rick Perry
This quote from Perry is code for saying , ‘I am running for President in 2016!’
Earlier this year, Perry told the Shark Tank that he would be making an announcement on whether or not he would run for Governor again, and then added he would also make up his mind on possible 2016 Presidential run, but not until later on in the year.
By announcing that he would not seek a fourth term as Texas’ Governor, Perry has made good on his previous statement.
Now we wait for his Presidential announcement. His good friend and economic rival, Florida Governor Rick Scott couldn’t resist, and took a friendly swipe at Perry in a statement regarding his announcement that he would not seek re-election.
“Under the stewardship of Governor Rick Perry since 2000, the people of Texas have seen up close how conservative policies drive economic engines, lower crime and produce stronger families. As the longest serving governor in Texas history, Governor Perry’s record of accomplishment leaves Texas-size boots to fill for his successor. I have enjoyed sparring with him over the last two years, and I hope he tells his successor that it’s just a matter of time before Florida unseats Texas as the number one state in the country for job creation. ”-Gov. Rick Scott
Here is my interview with Gov. Rick Perry back in March.
