During the recent 2013 Miami-Dade Republican Party Lincoln Day dinner, Governor Rick Scott took questions from reporters, where he addressed the states economic upswing, as well as possibly calling a special legislative session to address the Medicaid expansion issue.
According to CBS Miami Reporter Jim Defede, former Florida Governor and probable 2014 gubernatorial candidate, Charlie Crist, told him that “he’s not responsible for the world economic downturn, and that Florida Governor Rick Scott “should not take responsibility for the recover.”

Defede asked Scott how much credit or responsibility he should take for himself, prompting Scott, who has been making good on his campaign promise to create jobs, to say that he had inherited a bad state economic with high unemployment from Crist.
Scott then quoted former President Ronald Reagan, saying that it was surprising on what you can get done, when you don’t worry about who takes the credit.
When asked if he would call a special session to address the Medicaid expansion issue, a move Democrats, including Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, have been demanding him to do, Scott stated,” we just finished session, we just finished session and as you know, the House decided not to go forward.”
Governor Rick Scott, who changed his positi0n on Obamacare by deciding to accept the Medicaid expansion, said he will not call for a special session because the the Republican House of Representatives did not bring up the measure during the 2013 legislative session. In other words, it is up to the House to take up Medicaid again. Share and “Like” the story below, leave us a comment
