Over the past few weeks, there has been rightful outrage over revelations of massive National Security Agency spying on unsuspecting American citizens, whether through metadata collection or through their PRISM data collecting program. Viewed alone, this constitutes an unprecedented violation of our civil liberties and a gross invasion of privacy.Viewed through such scandals as the Associated Press telephone records grab and Internal Revenue Service persecution of select non-profits, the pattern revealed is that of a runaway government that deems itself unaccountable to the people it is supposed to serve.
Let us seize this moment, not to grandstand or fundraise, but to reflect on the gradual erosion of our most cherished freedoms and to begin to lay the groundwork for their immediate restoration. We must understand that our Bill of Rights is a seamless garment, and to weaken or undermine any one of our fundamental protections would unravel the entire Bill of Rights and destroy the Constitution.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
We must denounce the NSA snooping with the same rigor with which we denounced the IRS suppression of dissent, ObamaCare impositions on religious freedom, and the all-out assault against the Second Amendment. The entire Constitution matters.
