A very close friend to Senator Marco Rubio has told the Shark Tank that Rubio’s softening of his position on immigration reform is most likely or possibly attributed to pressure placed on him by his wife, who has pushed back against her husband’s tough views on immigration reform since his 2010 Senatorial campaign.
According to the friend, who insisted that his/her name be kept out of this story, Mrs. Rubio has been asking her husband to soften up his stance on immigration, considering that many of her family and friends were from Colombia and other Latin American nations, who are not afforded the same ‘pathway to citizenship’ as those from the island of Cuba.

While Rubio has always contended that imigration reform needed to be addressed in a fair an responsible manner, he is now perceived as being in support of amnesty for illegal immigrants, due to his cosponsoring of the current Senate immigration reform bill, which he himself has said is flawed.
