America’s favorite flip-flopping politician, former Republican Governor Charlie Crist, is in pre-campaign mode, as he continues to visit Democratic enclaves throughout the state of Florida.
The Palm Beach Post has reported that Crist was recently in Palm Beach County with Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson, to visit some of the county’s “Democratic strongholds”, as he continues to consider a gubernatorial run against Florida Governor Rick Scott in 2014.
It seems as if there are some Democrats warming up to the possibility that Crist could represent them as their Democratic Gubernatorial nominee in 2014.
Are these Democrats warming up to Crist, or are they just hard-up for anyone candidate that may be able to mount a campaign against Republican Governor Rick Scott?
“I think Democrats would like to see Charlie announce,” said state Rep. Kevin Rader, D-Delray Beach, who said Crist was warmly received at the United South County powwow and the Gleneagles lunch. Crist spoke at both events, but Rader said, “I think it was more of a listening tour. I don’t think he’s decided. I don’t think he’s come to 100 percent of a decision.”
Marvin Manning, longtime president of the Democratic club at Century Village of Boca Raton, said: “I think that Charlie Crist is the strongest candidate that the Democratic Party can field, and we should have no problem calling him a good Democrat.” – PB Post
Democrats are finally calling Crist what Republicans have always considered him as being, “a good Democrat.”
Democrats are desperate to beat Rick Scott, and because they are so eager to do so, they willing to compromised their own liberal principles, and vote for someone they campaigned against in 2010.
Back in 2010, when Crist ran as an Independent for the U.S. Senate, Crist bleed votes away from Democratic Senatorial candidate Kendrick Meek, enraging the core of the Democratic Party. Now some of these same Democrats are willing to trust him and cast their vote for him? Some one needs to give these Democrats a much needed ‘hug.’
