So what exactly is Allen West up to these days? Aside from his Next Generation gig at PJTV and being a Fox News Contributor, West has started the Allen West Foundation and Allen West Guardian PAC.
West’s Foundation is an organization focused on “issue advocacy,” while his Guardian PAC was set up to help “minority and military conservatives” get elected to Congress. West says that they are looking to help elected 12 candidates, or as he calls them, “the dirty dozen,” in the 2014 election cycle.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Everyone remembers when West first ran for office in 2008, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) did not support his candidacy. Apparently, this is the driving force behind West starting his PAC- to help those men and women who have served in the military, and are looking to continue to serve, but do not have the personal funds to launch their candidacies.
The whole thing about the PAC is, it is really focused on my experience when I came back out of Afghanistan, you went up to the NRCC and basically they said,” ok you’re a nice buy, but you’re not the guy we are looking to support because, guess what, you can’t write your own check.-Allen West
West lists the five points, or criteria that his PAC is looking for in a potential military candidate for Congress. While he has stated that he is looking to get back into the political mix in 2016, we asked West if he would run for Congress again, or possibly the Senate. West answered,” we’ll see.” Then we asked him if he would consider running for higher office, one that would afford him more time to golf, West responded,” I don’t golf.”
