The House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is saying that the current IRS scandal was all former President George W. Bush’s fault. According to Pelosi, Bush is responsible because he appointed former IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman back in 2008.
According to Huffpo, Shulman said he was clueless about why the IRS “targeted” conservative groups that were seeking tax exempt status.”

Pelosi defended President Obama by regurgitating the same White House talking point that the President did not know what was going on over at the IRS. According to recent reports on the scandal, Obama’s Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and his personal counsel, Kathy Ruemmler, were all told of the scandal at the IRS, yet they failed to mention it to the President?
“My colleagues tell me they had a terrible time trying to convince Senator Max Baucus to let Bush name another person. And in essence he objected to anybody who did not have Democratic credentials,” Rove said. “Like many things in the waning days in the administration, you have to make concessions to Congress, and Max Baucus played a particularly large role in his selection.”
