The growing and non-reported divide within the Democratic Party continues to deepen as party members are now openly voices their frustrations and disagreements with their party leaders.
The proud liberal Democratic Congressman, Alan Grayson, has recently stated that “roughly 170 of them (Democratic Representatives) need to be primaried” in the 2014 mid-term elections. This after only 30 of his fellow Democrats in the Congress “promised to vote against” the chained CPI measure that would slow down the Social Security benefit growth.

It seems as if recently retired Navy Petty Officer Michael McKenna misunderstood Grayson, when the Congressman said that (excluding him) other members of Congress needed to be challenged in the 2014 Democratic primary election.
McKenna has announced that he is challenging Grayson in the 2014 Democratic Party primary election in Florida’s 9th Congressional district.
Throughout Central Florida I hear people who are concerned. They are worried about what the future holds for our youth, for ourselves. They feel neglected by a system manipulated throughout the years to help those who are wealthy and leave behind those who are poor.-Michael McKenna (McKenna for Congress website)
This is eerily similar to Grayson usual hypocritical talking point that Republicans are for the rich, and against the poor. Grayson is one of the wealthiest members of Congress with a net worth in the millions, yet his current re-election campaign is in debt by over $2 million.
Aside from supported the redistribution of wealth, McKenna states on his website that he is Pro-Choice and supports the tax-hiking Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).
McKenna says that he “splits his political views with several of America’s most influential politicians,” listing Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr., and especially John F. Kennedy as his ‘guiding’ influences.’
This race should be very interesting to watch, as I suspect that few more Democrats may jump in to challenge Grayson. Grayson has proven over the years that does not mince his words, nor does he take challenges lightly. Expect Grayson to pounce on his Democrat opponent(s) if they pose a threat to him.Share and “Like” the story below. Follow The Shark Tank on Twitter and Facebook Leave a comment.
