The truth is this- a very small group of gay-rights activists entered the Grand Hyatt hotel, where the event took place and were quickly escorted out around 7pm, before Rubio had even emerged from the VIP reception that started at 6:30pm.
Rubio didn’t actually start his speech until around 8:30pm. I don’t know if Mr. Broverman was in attendance, but upon inspecting the media list when I arrived at the event, he was not included on the list. Tampa Bay Times reporter Adam Smith arrived shortly before the event kicked off, and would have reported if anyone had disrupted Rubio’s speech. I am sure that the 700+ attendees and hotel staff would contest this Advocate story for what it is, a lie.Share and “Like” the story below.
