“All of us have said that there will be no agreement until the eight of us agree to a big, specific bill, but hopefully we can get that done by the end of the week,” said Schumer, D-N.Y., who’s leading efforts by eight senators to craft the legislation. “That’s what we’re on track to do.”

That was Democrat U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (NY) on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” regarding the looming immigration reform bill  currently being discussed in the Senate.

Senator John  McCain, another member of the immigration reform “Gang of Eight,” and co-author of the 2007 McCain-Kennedy immigration bill that was nothing short of amnesty for illegal immigrants, also spoke about the long anticipated bill by saying, ” There will be a great deal of unhappiness about this proposal because everybody didn’t get what they wanted.”

As we wrote early this year about the Senate’s efforts to tackle immigration reform, the bill that will eventually come out of the Senate will do nothing but legitimize and push President Obama’s agenda of full amnesty for illegal immigrants. Obama’s Senior White House advisor Dan Pfieffer himself said that the bill being developed in the Senate is “completely consistent with President Barack Obama’s approach.”

Obama supports the Senates immigration reform efforts, except where Republicans are demanding that an anchor be tied to the complete securing of the U.S. border and a pathway to citizenship, before such a pathway is granted to the millions of illegal immigrants

“We are going to secure that border and it will be tied to a pathway to citizenship or there will be no deal,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C

The glaring warning sign to all Americans regarding this immigration reform bill is that President Obama and the most liberal Democratic Party members of the U.S. Senate are giving this bill a thumbs up. The President and the Democratic Party have always sought amnesty for illegal immigrants, believing that by doing so, millions of illegal immigrants would register to vote as Democrats, and vote eventually vote Democrat.

Why would the Republican in the Senate appease the radical left of the Democratic Party and sign off on such a bill, who Republican Senator John McCain himself had said has “little daylight” in difference with his 2007 McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill?

The two members of the U.S. Senate who have the most to lose for backing such a bill, are Senators Rand Paul Marco Rubio.


Both men, who will likely face each other in the 2016 Republican Presidential primary, have softened up their position on immigration reform, causing them both to receive significant backlash from their respective constituents. But Rubio will face stronger scrutiny and backlash from the conservative base since he is a member of the “Gang of 8,” and Paul is not.

Rubio’s new found immigration position, is very different from what he ran for the U.S. Senate on. It’s obviously that Rubio’s position on immigration reform is a hard pander for future votes, looking ‘forward; to 2016.

If this bill goes sour (left), as we expect it will, Rubio will have to distance himself from it in order to save face and credibility with the thousands of Republicans and Independent voters that oppose ‘gifting’ immigrants who have broken U.S. immigration laws with a pathway to citizenship. Just this past week, the Senate Budget Committee announced that Obamacare and Medicaid would add $40 billion in taxes to the immigration reform bill coming out of the Senate. This tax hike alone should force Rubio to back away from the deal, considering that he has been one of the most outspoken Senators against Obamcare.

 When asked if he would pull out of the bipartisan immigration reform initiative, if the Democrats decide to steer the bill in favor of a pathway to citizenship that Rubio opposes, Rubio stated the following:

It’s not about pulling out or making conditions for people, I just don’t think it would work, and I am not interested in being part of an immigration reform effort that ends up making the problem worse, or leading for illegal immigration growing in the future, so it has to be something that’s going to work–Sen. While Senator Graham and others believe that the immigration reform bill will pass the senate, the bill will have a much more difficult time passing in the Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives. House Representatives could be the only ones standing between what is considered by many to be a ‘nation-changing’ event, amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, and true immigration reform.
