Republicans seem serious about taking the fight to the Democrats early, as the first salvo against freshman Congressman Joe Garcia has been shot by the Congressional Leadership Fund. The fund goes after Garcia for not supporting the recent balance budget bill that passed in the U.S. House of Representatives.Garcia won his congressional seat on his third try after former Congressman David Rivera landed himself in hot water with Federal authorities regarding questionable campaign practices, crippling his chances of defeating Garcia in 2012.
Republicans in Florida and in Washington, D.C. have identified Garcia as a prime target in the 2014 mid-term elections. Both Garcia and fellow Democratic Congressman Patrick Murphy are thought to be two of the most vulnerable incumbents to defeat, and from the looks of it, the Republican political gloves are coming off sooner than later.
