Senate President Don Gaetz (who equated rejection of Medicaid expansion to a return to Jim Crow before quickly backtracking), on the other hand, is skeptical of teacher pay increases that are not merit-based, and whether the money is even really there to begin with.
Cutter would be well-served to know that although her boss may govern by executive fiat…when it comes to Florida, the Legislature will have the last word. Â Gov. Scott may want to take note of that, as well, before tossing electoral pander-candy in advance of a reelection campaign.
