Word around the state is that former Republican turned Independent and now Democrat Charlie Crist could be in position to defeat Florida Governor Rick Scott in next year’s gubernatorial general election- assuming of course that Crist will actually decide to run for the job and make it through a difficult Democrat primary.
Scott’s approval ratings are down- in fact, they’re way down- even as he’s been focused on fulfilling his primary campaign promise of creating jobs and doing so admirably against the headwinds of the federal government’s failed economic policies. If Florida’s economy continues to improve, Scott’s re-election chances will improve considerably- but no one can discount “the tan man” and his chances for returning to the governor’s mansion. He is still somewhat popular, even among the moderate wing of the Republican party, in spite of the fact that he turned his back on them in a losing effort against now Senator Marco Rubio in 2010.
Crist has already been lining up his supporters including Florida State Senator Jack “my chance to be Senate President went down the toilet” Latvala as well as other very shady individuals who come from his neck of the woods in the Tampa Bay area.

Crist could also get some much needed support and muscle from a couple of his “pipefitting’ boys, Bubba and Cletus who have already proven their muscle and talent for ‘man-handling’ anyone who might have some questions for the former Governor.
Do you all remember Bubba and Cletus from the AFL-CIO picnic back in 2010? I, El Sharko, covered the event where his political director at the time, Michelle Todd just happened to point me out to these two thugs, prompting them to accost me with ‘Charlie Crist for Senate’ yard signs. If Crist runs, it’s almost certain that Teamsters will join in the fun and offer us all some much needed comic relief like they did back in 2010.But things got a bit choppy at Crest’s Q&A session with the press, where yours truly, Maha-Sharkie was assaulted and harassed by two of the local Teamster’s thugs. Bubba and Cletus bum-rushed El Sharko and the camera, but what wasn’t caught on camera was an innocent young girl who was run over by these thugs as they attempted to shut down El Sharko.
I tried to make Cletus understand that he was embarrassing the Governor, but apparently he did not understand the English that was proceeding from my mouth. I do speak several languages including Spanish, English and Shark-ish, but if im going to stay on the trail with the Crist Campaign, I think I’m going to need to learn how to speak “Deliverance.”
