For the second time in as many days, the Obama administration is pointing the finger at Republicans for something they don’t have any control over. We all heard Obama’s spokesman Jay Carney blame Republicans in the House of Representatives for the dismal economic outlook report that showed that the national economy had shrunk in 2012. Now White House’s domestic policy chief Cecilia Munoz is blaming Congress for the amount of deportations of illegal aliens that have occured under Obama’s watch. Really?
“The government’s job is to do what Congress tells it to do,” Muñoz replied. “Congress, under the immigration laws that we’ve got now, Congress requires us to remove people who are removable and gives DHS, frankly, a whole lot of resources to do that job. DHS’s job is to make sure they make the best possible decisions on how they use those resources.”-Politico
What Munoz is saying is, Obama really doesn’t want to obey, let alone enforce immigration laws that have been voted into law by the U.S. Congress. Munoz does not directly blame Republicans, but implies it. Democrats have moved away from their fall-back of “blaming Bush” for all of the ill’s of the world, to now blaming the Republican controlled Congress.
