The religion of Islam has made great strides enlarging its ranks of late, as it is currently the fastest growing religion in the world today. The U.S. has also seen a spike in the number of conversions to Islam as well as an increase in immigration by Muslims worldwide.
Broward County has had several recent incidents where Muslims have clashed with Christians in protests regarding Israel as well as about the construction of several Mosques throughout the county.

In light these controversies, a newly established billboard campaign promoting the website whyislam.org is now clearly visible from both the northbound and southbound lanes of I-95. We reviewed the site page by page and it’s essentially a ‘411’ website for both Muslims and for persons who are interested in learning more about the religion.
WhyIslam.com is very user friendly and covers a wide number of topics pertaining to Islam including its relationship with other religions, so-called “misconceptions” about Sharia Law as well as other highly questionable claims about the religion that will certainly raise eyebrows. The site even has a link to an information page that tells you how to arrange a tour of a mosque. And this being South Florida, the billboards dutifully inform us that the shadowy organization’s representatives also “Se Habla Espanol.”
Because of website’s decision to promote a highly questionable version of Islam, we decided to do a simple search to determine who the owner of the website is as well as most likely paid for the billboards. After running a basic Whois.net search, we found hat the site’s domain is registered to Network Solutions, LLC., a web-based internet service provider, indicating that the owners of the site have decided to remain anonymous.
So just who or what organization is responsible for whyislam.org, and why do they feel the need to hide their true identity? Could it be that the reason for their secrecy is that this website is financed by foreign donors? Perhaps these financiers have ties to extremist groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood? But upon closer inspection, the site is “managed by ICNA,” the Islamic Circle of North America.
The WhyIslam message is run under the umbrella of the ICNA, which promotes some very controversial ideas by some very controversial individuals. Various reports show that the ICNA has a prolific resume, including:
Supporting the imposition of sharia law.
Having ties to the terrorist organization, Hamas.
Demonstrating deep ties to the fundamentalist Pakistani political party, Jamaat-e-Islami.
Expressing support for individuals such as the Ayatollah Khomeini and Mahmoud Ahmadenijad.-(Newsbusters)
Muslims claim that Islam is a peaceful religion that has been demonized due to the acts of extremists who have grossly interpreted in their own way. But many who have closely studied the Quran say that the Quran itself has numerous passages that blatantly call for ‘infidels’ to be severely punished and/or killed. Here are just a few of these passages-“O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion, and do not say anything concerning Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers . . .” (Quran 4:171; see also 66:12)
The Quran confirms that Jesus was born of a virgin woman. When the angel announced to Mary, on whom be peace, that she will bear a child, she said: “My Lord! How can I have a child when no mortal has touched me.”
She received the following reply: “So (it will be). Allah creates what He will. If He decrees a thing, He says unto it only: Be! and it is.” (Quran 3: 45, 47)
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”
Qur’an 9:29The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter;
Qur’an 5:33But Muslims see no reason to believe that the Bible is the final revelation from God. They believe that after the Old and New Testaments God revealed a final testament: the Quran. For Muslims, therefore, the ultimate authority is the Quran itself. They believe it to be the final revelation from God confirming the truth of the previous scriptures and yet acting as a quality control on the previous scriptures (Quran 5:48).
One section on the whyislam.org that really sounds the alarms is the section that attempts to “dispel myths” about Shariah Law. Here is the website’s descriptions of the two forms of punishment under Shariah Law. Pay close attention to the wording-
Shariah: Dispelling Myths
The Shariah consists of hadd punishments and tazir punishments; hadd crimes overstep God’s set boundaries whereas tazir crimes are committed against the society. The following hadd crimes have been mentioned in the Quran: murder, apostasy from Islam, theft, adultery, defamation, robbery and consumption of alcohol. Common tazir crimes include bribery, selling tainted or defected products, treason, usury, selling obscene pictures, etc.
While hadd punishments have been fixed in the Quran (such as retributive killing for murder and the chopping off of a limb for theft) there are many safeguards which are important to mention. For any punishment to actually take place, proof must be provided, along with a confession of the crime or witnesses testifying against the criminal. If any of these is not sufficiently presented, Islamic law requires the hadd crime to be treated as a tazir crime. (Some of the tazir penalties include counseling, fines, flogging, confinement, etc.)
In essence, retaliatory murder and malicious battery like “chopping off a limb” is ok by the Quran, as long as you can prove the crime in question was committed and provide someone who corroborates the incriminating offense.
The site says that Islam condemns forced marriages, honor killings and the “unfortunate deaths caused as a result of misguided emotions must be dealt by the courts as murders.”“Misguided emotions?” Is that any excuse for Muslims who commit murder in the name of family honor? Does the Quran incite such killings? You be the judge-
