A new Gravis Strategies poll of 385 likely voters conducted in the Democrat-leaning 23rd congressional district in South Florida has Congressman Connie Mack edging out Democrat Senator Bill Nelson 44.9% to 43.7%. The poll was sponsored by the Karen Harrington for Congress campaign in their congressional race against Democrat incumbent Debbie Wasserman Schultz.Gravis’ recent poll on the Florida Senate race has Mack and Nelson locked in a virtual tie while the Real Clear Politics average poll has Nelson up by 6.5% (Source-RCP). Two key points to take away from this poll are that Mack is pulling significant Independent and Democrat support away from Senator Nelson in a district that he has historically done well in, and that there are still 11.5% of voters still undecided. Bottom line- it’s a very encouraging poll for Mack to be this competitive in a D+11 congressional district.
