An interesting race could very well be heating up in Florida, between Congresswoman Kathy Castor- aka Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s ‘Mini- Me’- and retired U.S. Air Force Colonel E.J. Otero, whose campaign has sparked a groundswell of support in the 14th congressional district.
Castor is one of Obama’s most partisan allies in Congress who typically flies under the radar, but she’s now employing her own Mediscare strategy against Otero. On her campaign website, Castor regurgitates the same stale Democrat talking point that Democrats will be fighting “against the recent Republican efforts to end Medicare as we know it.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
But there’s good reason to believe that the Mediscare strategy that Democrats are betting the farm on will not end well for them. This time around, Democrats are faced with the daunting task of explaining away the fact that it was they who raided the Medicare Trust fund by an estimated $716 billion over the next ten years in their partisan zeal to ram ObamaCare through Congress.
Castor and others will never tell Americans that the Republican Medicare plan does not affect seniors 55 and older, and that in the future, those seniors under 55 will have an option to either receive the Medicare being offered now or go with the voucher option.Medicare
Kathy is an outspoken champion for Medicare and our older neighbors. She is fighting back against the recent Republican efforts to end Medicare as we know it, which would increase costs for beneficiaries and prorate senior healthcare through vouchers. The GOP plan breaks the fundamental promise of Medicare – the promise that if you work hard all of your life and pay your dues, that Medicare will be there for you in your retirement. –Kathy Castor Campaign
But much like Wasserman Schultz and her congressional race against Karen Harrington, who has effectively squirmed her way under Wasserman Schultz’ skin, Castor will face the same type of competitive race from Otero, who will no doubt will brand her for what she really is- a partisan liberal ideologue who’s not telling the truth about Medicare and is out of step with the American people.
