The Republican Party of Miami Dade County has announced that Congressman Allen West will be its keynote speaker at their June 30th Lincoln Day dinner in Miami, Florida. U.S. Senator Marco Rubio is listed as a special guest to the event. Events where both the popular Congressman and Senator are together in the same room are few and far between. Both men are considered by many to be on Mitt Romney’s short list of VP candidates, and/or will likely be president contenders in the future.
West has never spoken to the Miami GOP likely due to the fact that his congressional district is located further north in Palm Beach ,Martin and Indian River counties. Rubio on the other hand is a native son and grew up within the Cuban exile community.
