The latest Quinnipiac Poll of Florida is more encouraging news for presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney, as the poll of 1169 registered voters concluded on May 1st shows Romney with a 44%-43% lead over President Obama. While Romney’s narrow advantage is well within the margin of error of 2.9%, the wider sampling of registered voters suggests that the strength of Romney’s support as the challenger is broad-based in a sampling that is slightly less likely to actually vote than “likely voters” are.The same survey also showed Romney within two in Ohio (44%-42%) but trailing in Pennsylvania (47%-39%).
