Former Congressional and Senatorial candidate Dr.Marion Thorpe will be taking another stab at politics by announcing that he will run for Congress and challenge Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings. During a phone conversation this evening with Dr.Thorpe, the good Doctor said,” This time will be different.” Many of you may remember that Thorpe ran and lost against Hastings back in 2008, but not after the formerly impeached Judge Hastings threatened Thorpe’s life during a candidate’s forum in Palm Beach County, Florida.
Thorpe says that he has been asked by a few Washington types to challenge Hastings and that he would have the financial backing to put the seat in play. Thorpe believes that his election is different because it will be an election about “who has food on their table, and who does not.”
