Earlier this week the nation witnessed the final chapter in the NASA Space Shuttle program with the shuttle Discovery’s last flight around Washington, D.C.Congressman Tom Rooney sat down with the Shark Tank to discuss the implications of the program’s end as they relate to national security issues, which Rooney asserts are inextricably tied to the space program.
Rooney sits on the Congressional Armed Services and the Intelligence Committees, so it’s safe to say that his concerns are backed up with the classified intelligence that he has access to.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Rooney echoed the same concerns that his fellow member of Congress Michele Bachmann has, that being his concern about what direction, if any, the country is headed in regards to our space program.
The retirement of the space shuttle means that the U.S. will not have a suitable or capable space vehicle that can travel into space were there to be a circumstance that necessitated manned space flight, leaving us dependent on Chinese or Russian assistance for such an endeavor. We are going to have to hitch a ride – Congressman Tom Rooney
