Sheriff Paul Babeu has gained notoriety as a hardline Sheriff from Pinal County Arizona, and he’s recently announced that he will be running for Congress in the newly drawn 4th Congressional District in Arizona. Babeu is best known for his ‘sledgehammer’ approach to illegal immigration and has been a persistent critica of the Obama administration for its disastrous ‘Fast and Furious’ gunrunning program.
The Sheriff is not afraid to call a spade a spade, and he is currently polling at the top of his contested Republican primary race. Babeu and his friend Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Mariposa County have both been on the frontlines of the illegal immigration problem, but Babeu even more so because his county actually borders Mexico.
It’s refreshing to hear Babeu call it like it is in regards to the illegal immigration problem, and he’s not afraid to call out Congressman when they are wrong about the issue. Sheriff Babeu said Congressman David Rivera (R-FL) was “wrong’ for supporting the military component of the Dream Act, a measure that paves the way to citizenship for illegal aliens that were brought here illegally by their parents.
