Congressman John Mica’s primary challenge to Congresswoman Sandy Adams in the 7th Congressional District could very well spark an unnecessary and ugly primary race that would divide Republican voters who are partisan to their sitting representatives, and Adams seems to be digging in for a fight.Adams has been one of the most prominent members of the Florida’s congressional delegation, as she recently gained notoriety for her stern grilling of Attorney General Eric Holder regarding the federal government’s botched ‘Fast and Furious’ gun-running program.
While Adams was been holding the Obama Administration responsible for its negligence, Congressman Mica, as Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, has been pushing the controversial ‘High Speed Rail’ project that Florida Governor Rick Scott recently squashed by rejecting the federal dollars that were allocated to the project.

At last week’s annual CPAC event in Washington, D.C., Congresswoman Adams stated that she had a discussion with Congressman Mica about their possible primary contest while on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Adams said that Mica told her that, “It will all work out.” Adams also pointed out that 70% of Mica’s current congressional district lies what now comprises the 6th congressional district.
