Here’s a quick Day 1 wrap-up of Governor Rick Perry’s ‘Road Ranger Rick’ bus tour throughout the frozen tundra of Iowa.1pm-Council Bluffs, Iowa
Governor Perry attended a townhall meeting that attracted about 100 supporters and curious Iowans who came out to greet the Texas governor during the first leg of his bus tour. Perry was introduced by retired Marine Captain Dan Moran who sustained 3 degree burns over half his body when the vehicle he was riding in was hit by an IED, while serving in Iraq. Moran lost 3 of his fellow Marines and he was awarded a Purple Heart.

3pm- Harlan, Iowa
Perry stopped in the historic town of Harlan where visited about a dozen small businesses, including a machine shop that manufactures Kidney Dialysis equipment. Perry strolled around the town square popping into shop after shop, and he was even offered a haircut at Leo’s Barbershop-Perry jokingly declined stating that he had his cut the day before asking the press on their opinion of how the haircut looked. Perry then entered a coffee shop where he had a cup of joe. I asked him if he would be buying the whole press corp a cup of coffee. Perry responed by joking, “Nope, you’re on an expense account, I know it Javier.”7pm-Des Moines, Iowa
The next stop of the bus tour was in Dennison, Iowa, the last stop before Governor Perry made his way back to Des Moines where he addressed a crowd of about 500 that were attending Governor Mike Huckabee’s premiere of his new pro-life documentary, “The Gift of Life.”
