According to the latest Real Clear Politics average, Republican Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich leads the field of Presidential hopefuls by an average of 2.2%, the average factors in polls that were conducted prior to the November 22 CNN/Heritage Foundation debate which featured Gingrich staking out a very questionable position on illegal immigration. Gingrich outlined a position that many conservatives, including including Minnesota Congresswoman and Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann view as amnesty. Before Herman Cain became the GOP frontrunner, Texas Governor Rick Perry seemed to have the inside track to the Republican nomination until the moment he stated that it was “heartless” to deny opportunities to illegal aliens living in the United States. Perry felt the wrath from conservatives after this remark, which was coupled with his poor performance at the Presidency 5 debate in Orlando, Florida back in September. Will Gingrich’s softened position on immigration spell the end of the road for the Gingrich for President campaign?
Gingrich will be holding a townhall meeting in Naples, Florida on Friday November 25 where he will most likely be asked to elaborate more on his illegal immigration position. A well-honed “fin” will be in attendance, and this crack reporter will undoubtedly partake in the media ‘gaggle’ that congregates before or after Gingrich’s meeting.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
If you had the opportunity to ask former Speaker Gingrich a question about any topic, what would it be? Please post your question it in the comments section below, and perhaps we will have the opportunity to present your question to Gingrich.
