West addressed Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s remark that both Bush and ‘Democracy’ were to blame for Hamas’ rise to power. West explained Hamas’ origin of existence, before opining that Wasserman’s remark had “no grounding in truth or fact, just political rhetoric.”
West also spoke about the comment that Palm Beach County GOP Chairman Sid Dinerstein made in reference to a possible selection of West for Secretary of Defense were President Obama to be defeated. West also supports an Israeli ‘preemptive’ military strike against Iran once a credible threat by Iran is identified.
Israel has to understand that Prime Minister Netanyahu is responsible for the security of his people, and if he sees that credible threat coming from Iran, based upon what we are going to find out next week by the IAEA report, then he needs to be able to take the appropriate actions, and we need to stand behind him as a staunch ally. I will tell you this that sanctions are only going to take you so far, eventually your going to have to do something about the military capability that Iran is building. – Congressman Allen West
