Buchanan stated that he “liked” Governor Rick Perry, and while he felt that businessman Herman Cain has accorded himself very well thus far in the Presidential primary, he questioned Cain’s ability to raise the money needed to run a national campaign as organized as either Governor Mitt Romney or Perry.
In his address to Sarasota Republican Club, Buchanan also stated that he disagreed with Governor Perry on immigration, saying that he was “wrong on immigration”, referencing his support for in-state tuition rates for children of illegal immigrants. Buchanan added that the country needed strengthen its immigration enforcement and that English should be the official language of the United States.
