It’s pretty hard to deny that last night’s NY-9 special election win by Bob Turner is a harbinger of things to come for Democrats in 2012. The news services called the race with Turner leading 54%-46% and about 90% of the precincts reporting- a stunning victory. Turner’s pickup of disgraced former congressman Anthony “Hot Dog” Wiener’s seat is a big pickup for Republicans AND conservatives in a district with a substantial Jewish vote.Leave it to DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to render an accurate post-election analysis:
“It’s a very difficult district for Democrats,” said Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, noting its Democratic margins there tend to be the second lowest of all the districts in New York City.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Earth to Debbie. Come in, Debbie!! This is a 3-1 Democrat-Republican congressional district that hasn’t had a Republican as its representative since 1923. 1923!! If that district doesn’t qualify as a Democrat stronghold, then perhaps the DNC needs to conduct a seance for William “Boss” Tweed.
There is spin, there is partisan-spin, and then there is ludicrous warp-speed spin, courtesy of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
Could this special election upset also be an ominous sign for Wasserman-Schultz in her own FL-20 congressional district? Are enough Jewish voters fleeing the Democrat Party and seeking viable Republican alternatives that aren’t married to President Obama’s toxic foreign and domestic policies? Stay tuned…
