With President Obama’s approval rating from Hispanics in a complete free fall based on the latest Gallup numbers, the so-called conventional wisdom that the Hispanic vote is a reliable Democrat constituency group who are primarily concerned about amnesty for illegal immigrants is being turned on its head.  A drop this precipitous- over 40 percentage points- is a clear indication that Hispanics cannot be considered a monolithic voter block and are sensitive to the dismal state of the national economy and the national Hispanic unemployment rate of 11.3%.

But lurking in the wings are those malcontents who will go to great lengths to run interference on behalf of Democrats to further their destructive political aims.  Race-baiting organizations like Somos Republicans, a small obscure group headed by Belinda “Dee Dee” Blase of Arizona takes its cues from La Raza, the biggest race-baiting Hispanic organization in the country.

While La Raza makes no bones about their extremist views and outright hostility to legitimate American interests, Somos Republicans and Blase have crafted a deceptive smoke and mirrors campaign that’s exclusively designed to deceive Hispanics who are not as engaged in the political process as most readers of the Shark Tank are.

Blase ridiculously states that her SomosRepublican group is the ‘largest’ Hispanic group in the nation when in reality the group can only boast a mere 600 members on Facebook and ignores the fact that La Raza has nearly 15,000 members. It’s true that you can’t gauge actual membership numbers based on a specific social media platform alone, but it can give you an idea of how popular the organization really is.

Blase and others like her continue to miss the point that the illegal immigration issue is not about race, it is about the safety and security of all Americans. Before any form of immigration reform can be discussed, the security issue along the border must be dealt with and resolved.  But what is Blase’s real motive behind all of the vitriol she spews against the Republican Party over illegal immigration? Is there a bigger agenda behind her deceptive immigration position, and who is really supporting her efforts?

So now that it’s clear that Blase/Somos Republicans are factually challenged amnesty hacks, let’s get back to finding out who exactly this ‘Somos Republicans’ group really is.  Dee Dee Blase, who is likely the author of the article, is also affiliated with an organization that identifies itself as the ‘Tequila Party’, a group that can best be described as a political flash mob, not an actual political party or other readily identifiable political organization.  First and foremost, why does this group use the word ‘Tequila’ to name their Hispanic political organization?  Is their purpose to lobby government for the increased consumption of tequila?  Much more likely is the probability that the group’s name is an obvious race-baiting tactic that seeks to call attention to itself in hopes of eliciting responses that the group will label as racist- regardless of whether these responses are actually racist ones or not.

It is very unfortunate that Blase and others like her continue to create discord amongst Latinos by attempting to frame the illegal immigration issue in a manner that paints those who support enforcement of our immigration laws as racist, and the Mexican nationals who cross our southern border as defenseless victims who are not breaking the law.  As a Colombian-American myself, I am truly embarrassed by Blase and others like her that marginalize themselves with these arguments- ‘all’ Latinos do NOT support their version of “comprehensive immigration reform.”  These immigration extremists conveniently categorize all Latinos as pro-illegal immigration as it suits their purposes.

In fact, the ‘Tequila Party” was previously identified by the publication The Week as being comprised of many disenchanted individuals who are “considering severing their ties to the Democratic Party and forming an independent, grassroots group called the “Tequila Party,” most likely because their conveniently identified flash mob has much more radical aims than establishment Democrats.

 Here’s some more dubious activity from this group- it wasn’t that long ago when the “Tequila Party” was bragging how “Latino voters demonstrated their power in Nevada by putting Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid over the top in a close race against Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle.”  But wait- I thought Blase and Somos Republicans were Republicans??  Did they not support Angle in 2010?  How about John McCain in 2008, did she support him, or was he too extreme for her tastes as well?

Upon the posting of our first investigative inquiry about Blase and Somos Republicans, a handful of Congressional staffers have told us that Blase has managed to marginalized herself and her group by not being willing to discuss ‘all’ sides of the immigration issue. Apparently, Blase has shown flairs of anger and frustration that have forced many in Washington, D.C. to have to shut their doors on her.

Blase is now writing for the Huffington Post (shocking!), and she recently threatened that that there won’t be any more votes for Republicans until immigration “reform” is addressed:

“In order for the GOP to acquire new Latino voters for 2012, they must support legal comprehensive immigration reform to make up for their dismal DREAM Act vote in 2010. There is no way around this.  Republican lawmakers across the nation have spoken loud and clear and have said the immigration system is broken.”-The Huffington Post, Belinda ‘Dee Dee’ Blase

Blase is setting Republicans up for a big failure in the eyes of her followers, as she darn well knows that any “comprehensive immigration reform” that grants amnesty will not get any support from Republicans in Congress.  We’ll continue to follow Blase’s exploits and reminds folks that her organization is nothing more than a political flash mob that’s only concerned with shaming politicians who oppose the group’s pro-amnesty/open borders position.  It’s only a matter of time before the ties to Democrats and George Soros shine clear as day.
